Trading holidays for the remainder of 2010
23 comments / April 14, 2010
The year of 2010 had three trading holidays for Euronext’s derivative markets. A long Easter weekend last week and a long forgotten and cold New Years Day. All traders and brokers can keep in mind there will be no public holidays for the remainder of 2010. All those comfortable days like Labour day and Christmas will occur in the weekend, and all other public holidays like Queensday and Pentecost monday are holiday for all but the financial markets.
There is some little good news. Next year will be better, and in the end of 2010 you will be given two free afternoons:
24 december 2010 – markets closed at 13:00
31 december 2010 – markets closed at 13:00
next year means 2011
This assumes you still have your job.
Remember the cartoon with "The door, you, you're fired"
why do we still have a lot of christian holidays, but is the 5th of may only once in the 5 year, and on euronext never, a national holiday
wow really stuck for news if holidays are getting their own story! Having said that there isnt much to talk about, dont think I've ever seen such little volume/interest in the mkt
Dear Bob,
Just because there's nothing of interest, it doesn't mean that you can post whatever the hell you want (see dog in Queen's day outfit).
What happened to you man? Where's the market maker bashing and cynicism that your readers have come to expect from this blog?
Regards,
Your friendly neighborhood market maker.
Counting my money!
Come on Euronext, close the market on queensday. Or do the French have to work on July 14?
